Hi, I’m Meredith Noble. I live in Brooklyn and work as a the Director of Interaction Design at Catalyst Group. We are a user experience (UX) research and design company, focussed on all aspects of UX, from strategy to design to research.

I co-founded IxDA Toronto in 2008 with Matt Nish-Lapidus and worked to build our local community for three and a half years before departing for New York in 2011. My active involvement with the IxDA is on hiatus at the moment, but I still consider myself a strong supporter of the organization and try to attend the international conference every year. I believe passionately in local community and in promoting knowledge sharing between UX professionals. Everyone has something to teach others, no matter their age or seniority.

I am Canadian by citizenship and temperament. :)

I have had many, many stints of publishing online. I published from 1997-2005 pretty regularly, on the previous incarnation of Meredi.com. Then I decided that I’d outgrown my teenage and twenty-something self and wiped the slate clean. What you see here is the mostly wiped-clean slate. It includes some blog posts from my wonderful past employer, Usability Matters.

I will be using this space to discuss my passions:

• Leadership (new for me with my change in role at Catalyst)
• Creating community (particularly building the UX community)
• Relating to others in a professional context, and balancing work with one’s personal life
• Feminism and gender issues in the tech and UX communities
